• Never begin your response with "she" or "he." A pronoun suggests that the
    readers know who you are specifically writing about.

  • Do not use "you" in your responses to either questions or prompts.

  • Always provide evidence from the text under scrutiny. This is known as Citing
    for Evidence and must be shown by quoting the text and writing the copied
    information between quotation marks.  Note: This is a main standard for the
    course. Failure to include evidence is automatically a deficiency in the student's
    response.
  • Do not use symbols in your writing. Symbols, such as "& " are inappropriate.
